NBA Free Agency: Where the Stars Should Go Part 2

The Finals may be decided, but thanks to high stakes free agency, the NBA season never truly ends. Part 1 detailed where Free Agency’s two biggest stars, Lebron and Carmelo should go, now it’s time to see what the best of the rest should choose.

Kevin Love
2014 team: Minnesota Timberwolves
Best 2015 destination: Golden State Warriors

Love technically isn't a free agent until next season, but it’s highly probable that he forces a trade this off-season. No team will trade for Love unless he agrees to sign a long term deal there, so 3-time all-star essentially controls his own fate.

Talks between Golden State and Minnesota have reportedly broken down, but hopefully the two teams reconcile because the proposed deal is a winner for both sides. The Warriors would trade Klay Thompson, David Lee and a first round pick to the Timberwolves for Kevin Love and Kevin Martin.

The Timberwolves aren't going to find a deal any better than that and as fun as the current Warriors squad is, they aren’t winning a championship with their current roster. Timberwolves get a player with tons of potential in Thompson, and the Warriors get a star player to pair with Steph Curry.

Pau Gasol
2014 team: Los Angeles Lakers
Best 2015 destination: Dallas Mavericks

Gasol is entering the twilight of his career and there is no better place for aging players to go than Dallas. Coach Rick Carlisle has kept Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion going late in their careers and completely rejuvenated the career of the 37-year-old Vince Carter. Dallas won a championship in 2011 with a bunch of geezers, Carlisle will get more out of the aging Gasol than anyone else.

Kyle Lowry
2014 team: Toronto Raptors
Best 2015 destination: The highest bidder

Unlike most of the other players on this list, Lowry has never really cashed in big with a contract. The 28-year-old was a late first round pick and didn’t truly flourish until this past year. This is probably his only chance to land a big-time deal. He should absolutely cash in while he can, whether that be with Toronto or the Lakers, who have also shown a lot of interest.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh
2014 team: Miami Heat
Best 2015 destination: Miami Heat

It may not be in Lebron’s best interest to go back to Miami, but it’s certainly in the best interest of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The two should do everything they can to convince Lebron to stay, that includes taking a bit of a pay-cut if they have to.
