Mavs-Knicks Trade: Chandler Back to Dallas

Draft day is tomorrow and there is expected to be a ton of wheeling and dealing surrounding it.

The Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks got a head-start agreeing to a deal that sends Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas in exchange for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Shane Larkin, Wayne Ellington, and two 2nd round picks (#34 and #51).

At first glance, it looks like the Mavericks gave up too much. Dallas fans should be excited about a Chandler-Nowitzki reunion, but giving up a the 34th pick this year and the 18th pick last year (Larkin) is a steep price to pay. The Mavericks improve immediately, but if Larkin becomes a starting caliber point guard in the future, New York will have won this deal.
