Mavs-Knicks Trade: Chandler Back to Dallas

Draft day is tomorrow and there is expected to be a ton of wheeling and dealing surrounding it.

The Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks got a head-start agreeing to a deal that sends Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas in exchange for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Shane Larkin, Wayne Ellington, and two 2nd round picks (#34 and #51).

The Spurs are the champs of the official season; now it’s time for teams to vie for the prizes available in the offseason. July 1^st marks the beginning of free agency and big names such as Lebron and Carmelo may be up for grabs. Only God knows where these wishy-washy stars will actually choose to go. Where they should go is a question infinitely much easier to answer.  The following is a list of where these all-stars should go in 2015.

The Spurs are the best team in the world, and it turns out it wasn't even close.

Heat Have the Best Player, Spurs Have the Best Team

Lebron James is the greatest player in the world right now, and it doesn’t matter one bit. Through four finals games, the Spurs have been the better team and it hasn’t even been close. Three wins by 15, 19, and 21, with only a single loss by 2. This series could easily already be over.

Spurs Roll Thanks to Historic First Half

Welp. That was some beautiful basketball. The Spurs dropped 41 points in the first quarter and 71 in the first half. That's not a typo, statistically San Antonio just pulled off the greatest half of basketball in NBA Finals history.

Lebron (and the Heat) even the series.

It was the Lebron James show last night as the Heat won a nail biter of a game 2, 98-96.

A few notes:

• Don’t let anyone fool you, there isn’t a “Big 3” in Miami, there’s just the “Big One”. Lebron put in a dominant effort scoring 35 points and grabbing 10 rebounds on 64% shooting.

• Rashard Lewis took as many shots and scored as many points as Dywane Wade. Wade struggled all game and the Heat played their best ball with him on the bench in the third quarter.

• The Spurs, known for their depth, only had three players score in double figures, the Heat had four.  Depth is San Antonio’s biggest advantage in this series, they aren’t going to win if that depth uncharacteristically doesn’t show up.

• Chris Bosh wasn’t spectacular, but he came up big when the team needed him. He doesn’t get the respect, but he’s Miami’s number 2 option at this point.

Pivotal game 3 is Tuesday night.

Lebron James is Human, Spurs Win Game 1

Cramps forced Lebron out of the game in the 4th quarter.

Despite previous evidence, Lebron James is not, in fact, invincible. A bizarre electrical failure at the AT&T center left the Spurs, Heat, and the San Antonio crowd without air conditioning for most of game 1, and late in the 4th quarter the heat got to Lebron. The four-time MVP had to be benched with leg cramps.

Lebron will surely be mocked for his absence, but cramps happen, and they're impossible to play with. The bigger worry for Heat fans should be how quickly the Heat collapsed without their star. Lebron exited the game with 3:59 left and his team down just two. The Spurs immediately went on a  16-3 run, winning the game 110-95.

The collapse is just another reminder that Dwyane Wade isn't what he used to be. He's no longer capable of carrying his team against a foe as talented as the Spurs. If the Heat are going to three-peat, the Finals have to become the Lebron Show, and unfortunately tonight, the show ended four minutes too early.
