Lebron James is the greatest player in the world right now, and it
doesn’t matter one bit. Through four finals games, the Spurs have been the better team and it hasn’t even been
close. Three wins by 15, 19, and 21, with only a single loss by 2. This series
could easily already be over.
While Lebron is forced to carry a team on his back, the San
Antonio Spurs kill opponents with their depth. Every Spur scored. Kawhi Leonard
had 20 points and 14 rebounds; Tim Duncan pitched in 10 and 11; and Boris Diaw
almost messed around and got a triple-double. Oh yeah, Tony Parker, the team’s
best player, had 19 points too.
That’s how the Spurs play, no one person dominates. It’s easy to
forget what their best player does because everyone is involved. Miami is the
exact opposite. Dywane Wade is done; Chris Bosh played uninspired; and an APB
has been put out for Mario Chalmers.
In the third quarter, Lebron went H.A.M. and scored 19 points and
yet San Antonio actually expanded
their lead.
It’s true, Lebron James is the greatest player in the world right
now, but who cares? That fact certainly doesn’t matter to the Spurs.
